The Adobe ColdFusion Summit East 2023 hosted by Carahsoft, one of the premier events for ColdFusion developers, took place last week in Washington, D.C., and Hostek was there for it! Britt and Dejah were there representing the Hostek team. This year’s event brought together some of the brightest minds in ColdFusion development and featured various educational workshops and networking opportunities.
Adobe ColdFusion is a server-side scripting language used to create dynamic web applications. ColdFusion is well-known for its simplicity and adaptability, and it can be combined with other technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. With a wide range of built-in features and tools that simplify the development process, it enables developers to create complex applications quickly and easily. Session management, database integration, and the ability to work with multiple data formats are some of ColdFusion’s key features. ColdFusion is a popular choice for developing web applications of all types and is widely used in enterprise applications. Its massive popularity is why Adobe ColdFusion added an East Coast conference to the list of events they have throughout the year this year.
The event started with a breakfast buffet and a keynote address by Adobe’s Director of Products, Vivek Kumar, who outlined the latest developments in ColdFusion technology and the exciting roadmap for the platform’s future. Attendees were treated to glimpse upcoming features and enhancements, such as improved performance, enhanced security, and better integration with other Adobe products.
The conference’s remaining hours were jam-packed with educational sessions and seminars that addressed a wide range of subjects important to ColdFusion developers. Some of the seminars covered topics like Codes, Ciphers, and ColdFusion, Leveraging AI/Cognitive Services via Adobe ColdFusion, and Hidden Gems in ColdFusion 2023, to name just a few. These hands-on workshops were a highlight of the conference, allowing attendees to work through practical exercises and gain real-time experience in critical areas such as ColdFusion security, performance optimization, and advanced application development.
The conference’s networking opportunities were also a big draw. This event brought together all types of developers from governmental backgrounds across the east coast. The attendees could connect with other ColdFusion developers, share ideas and insights, and make valuable professional connections. During the conference, attendees were treated to a gourmet buffet for lunch, where they could network, meet vendors, and collect various swag!
Aside from the main conference sessions and workshops, attendees could explore the vendor stations and meet key players in ColdFusion, such as Hostek. Britt and Dejah were able to meet many of our customers who attended the event and were able to hand out swag and introduce our lasted product security audits. The Hostek team had a great time connecting to current customers and meeting new ones, speaking with experts on ColdFusion, and meeting the host of the event, the Carahsoft team!
Overall, the Adobe ColdFusion Summit 2023 was a highly informative and engaging event that provided valuable insights, practical experience, and the opportunity to network with other professionals in ColdFusion developers. We can’t wait to see what Adobe has in store for ColdFusion in the future, and we can’t wait for the next event!
